What does Time…
know? So Time magazine released a book of the 100 most important people of the last century. The members of this list are split into five separate categories with criteria all their own. Here are the categories: Leaders and Revolutionaries-Twenty people who helped define the century’s political and social fabric; Artists and Entertainers-Twenty pioneers of human expression who enlightened and enlivened us; Builders & Titans- Twenty innovators who changed how the world works; Scientists and Thinkers- Twenty people who overthrew our inherited ideas about logic, language, learning, mathematics, economics and even space and time; Heroes and Icons-Twenty people who exemplify courage, selflessness, exuberance, superhuman ability and amazing grace. So their list is whatever, I mean it’s well thought out but it completely flies over the head of a younger generation of teens and adolescents who probably don’t know who half of these people are. Jean Piaget, Martin Luther (not Martin Luther King Jr., I KNOW right? Who’s this guy jackin MLK’s name?), Lucky Luciano? I mean really, who do they expect to actually know how all of these unknowns affected the world? This list is way too underground. I want to release a list of my own that will serve as a more culturally relevant and true to the title list.
Leaders and Revolutionaries: Stella Liebeck- The woman responsible for one of the most widely covered lawsuits of the 1990’s, Stella Liebeck is best known as the woman who sued McDonald’s restaurants for making, God forbid, hot coffee. She started a trend that has since taken off and never looked back, suing people for things that you probably should have known yourself or suing people for things that you are completely responsible for.

Artists and Entertainers: Dylan- No not Bob Dylan, I’m talking about Dylan John from P. Diddy’s Making da Band. He spits hot fire, he don’t take no shit, and if a man can rightfully claim all five spots on the five greatest rappers in the world list, well, shit, I think he deserves this honor. I rhyme when I rip!

Builders and Titans: I’m changing the title of this category..
Builders and Spartans: This guy.

Scientists and Thinkers: This category was just too EASY. Someone who’s overthrown our inherited ideas about logic, language, learning, mathematics, economics and even space and time. There can be only one. Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, I give you……. The Count!!!!

Heroes and Icons: Do I even need to say it.

And for person of the century, the honor and privilege goes to….
ZAC EFRON!!! Who knew that one pre-pubescent young boy could affect the lives of so many by doing so little. Thanks for nothing Zac, you earned this one :)
